The result of the renovation is a modern and functional space composed of a wide variety of storage rooms or boxes, of different sizes and configurations, which are rented according to the client’s needs. These spaces are designed to ensure maximum security, cleanliness, and accessibility, allowing access 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In addition to its primary use as a storage center, the project includes a commercial area for access control and the sale of self-storage-related products, such as boxes, locks, shelving, and other useful accessories.
The renovated building is located on a plot that already housed buildings with various uses. Specifically, the complex consists of two blocks intended as a hotel-parking complex for the senior citizen sector, a third block for commercial and office use, and a basement converted into a parking lot. Bluespace’s intervention was implemented in the commercial area located in the basement, making the most of the available space without the need for new high-rise construction.
Angulo Arquitectura carried out a comprehensive architectural intervention that included both conservation work and interior redesign. Open-plan layouts were created to allow for efficient organization of the mini-warehouses, while respecting maximum evacuation distances and safety regulatory requirements. The existing installations were also reviewed and updated: rainwater and sewage downpipes, plumbing network, fire protection system, waterproofing of exterior areas, and the overall structure of the building.
