Advances in the construction of housing in Barrika
Last August 10 we visited the construction site of this house. We are in the final phase, and we are extremely concerned that details and concepts, which were fundamental during the development of the project, are lost along the way. Our goal is to try to preserve the expectations of our client.
Faced with the closure of the project’s slats, we have made the decision to execute a corten steel element using rectangles of various sizes, placed in a “disorderly” manner. During the oxidation phase, the lower wall of “splinted concrete” has been covered with a plastic sheet to avoid staining the concrete with rust.
The ventilated facade is practically finished. We have used a system of fiber cement panels of large format and lightness. An air mattress surrounds the house, including the areas of the false ceilings of the porches, providing a homogeneous thermal behavior throughout the “shell” of the building.
The interior cladding works are currently beginning: tiling, resin, paint. On the outside, with the waterproofing of terraces and porches carried out, as well as the covered pool basin, the following are pending: technological flooring on porches and pool area, landscaping, lighting. All this combined with swept concrete in the pedestrian accesses and garage ramp, and “bare” concrete with the exposed aggregate, in the walls of the “basement – basement” of the house. Likewise, the glass railings on balconies and terraces on the ground and first floors are still pending.
