Bultaco Flagship Store

Site: Leganés, Madrid
Restricted Competition: 2014. First prize
Construction: 2016

In 2014, Bultaco Motors held a restricted international competition to select the design for its prototype store, coinciding with the launch of its new line of electric motorcycles. Eight international architecture and design teams participated, including Angulo Arquitectura, whose proposal won thanks to an innovative concept of commercial architecture and brand experience.

The project proposed a hybrid and flexible solution that combined a permanent store with pop-up style spaces, adaptable to different locations and retail formats. This proposal allowed for the development of both permanent points of sale and mobile installations, reinforcing Bultaco’s visibility and positioning in the electric mobility sector.

A Commercial Space Conceived as a Technological Motor Hub

From its initial conception, the project was designed as much more than just an electric motorcycle store. The proposal transformed the space into a true technological hub, a dynamic environment designed for users to interact with the brand, discover its values, and enjoy an immersive experience linked to innovation and sustainable mobility.

The main objective was to create a community of enthusiasts around Bultaco Motors, fostering loyalty and generating an emotional connection between the brand and its users. To achieve this, the interior design was developed from an experiential, sensory, and emotional perspective, where architecture and interior design become tools capable of creating unique and memorable experiences.

Every element of the space was conceived to exceed visitor expectations through subtle design touches, intuitive layouts, and technological interactions integrated into the retail environment.

Modular Design and Flexible Spaces

The system designed by Angulo Arquitectura is based on a configurable modular structure, capable of adapting to different scales and functional needs. This flexibility allows the space to be reorganized independently according to the exhibition, commercial, or technological requirements of each location.

The Bultaco Flagship Store incorporates different functional areas:

  • Interactive e-motorcycle exhibition area
  • Museum space linked to the brand’s history
  • Merchandise boutique
  • Lounge area
  • Multifunctional area for events and presentations

Thanks to this flexible configuration, the space can be easily transformed to host different activities related to the brand and electric mobility.

Commercial Architecture Focused on User Experience

One of the most important aspects of the project was the ergonomic and functional design of the retail furniture. The design incorporated multimedia touchscreens integrated into the display modules, fostering continuous interaction between the user and the digital content.

To optimize the user experience, the displays were designed with a slight incline that improves viewing and facilitates touch interaction. Furthermore, the lower sections are recessed to increase accessibility and ensure greater comfort and freedom of movement.

The integration of technology, commercial architecture, and interior design creates an innovative, intuitive space adaptable to different user profiles.

Multipurpose spaces for events and community

The versatility of the lounge area and the exhibition space near the stairs allows the store to be transformed into a multipurpose space ready to host a wide range of brand activities and events:

  • Bultaco Lab
  • Forums and meetings
  • Courses and training sessions
  • Product launches
  • Live streaming (Bultaco TV)
  • Riding and road safety workshops

This approach makes the store an active meeting point for the Bultaco community, reinforcing the experiential value of the retail space.

Materials, Brand Identity, and Contemporary Design

The selection of materials and finishes was carefully considered to reinforce Bultaco Motors’ visual and conceptual identity. The interior design blends references to the brand’s historical legacy with a contemporary aesthetic linked to technological innovation and electric mobility.

The result is a contemporary retail space that integrates architecture, interior design, technology, and user experience to create a flexible, dynamic flagship store aligned with new experiential retail models.

Diseño de prototipo tienda

Our itinerant pop-up proposal is based on ergonomic design and easy industrialization. It is complemented with a video mapping technique, turning the set’s interior skin into an interactive screen
