Hotel Ibaia
Site: Gordexola, Spain
Project: 2010
Built: 2008 – 2010

An old Convent from the 18th century is transformed into a 4 **** hotel. An attempt was made to reinterpret some spaces marked by their original use, to transform them and preserve their built heritage. The gastronomic use, hosting a reference restaurant in Bizkaia, prevailed as a variable, during the project and work, leaving the hotel activity in the background.

“In the project phase we worked with an ‘experience laboratory’, which helped to conceptualize the different spaces of the hotel”

Borja Angulo
Architect
